Activities That Engage Everyone
Looking to February activities your students will truly love?
We’ve got you covered!
Below, you’ll find 10 time-conscious, low-burden, and incredibly engaging activities to engage students during the month of love!

Activity
The Cupid Crew!
During the week of Valentine’s Day, assemble a crew of 5-7 student leaders and task them with spreading kindness around campus. Each day, this Cupid Crew can dress up in festive colors, hand out candy during passing periods, spontaneously give notes of appreciation to staff, and hold open doors for students in the mornings! The more kindness this crew spreads, the better!

Activity
Compliment Candy Stations
Set up a station at lunch filled with candy and treats. While candy can be sold for a small price, the sweet snacks are free for students who compliment a friend while at the table! This simple and fun activity is a great way to spread simple acts of kindness on campus!

Activity
For the Love of Friendship!
Want to create some simple and fun memories for students? Create a Valentine’s themed photo backdrop built just for friends to come together and get their picture taken! Have student leaders on standby to take photos, and post some of the highlights on your program’s social media account(s)!

Activity
What is Love?
Ask a local elementary school classroom to record voice messages answering the simple question: “What does love mean to you?”
Each morning during the week of Valentine’s Day, play one answer over your school’s PA system during morning/afternoon announcements!

Activity
Sweet Treats!
During lunch, offer free cookie decorating on heart-shaped snacks!
The only catch? Participants must decorate and gift their finished cookie to a friend!

Activity
What We Love About You!
Using a simple cell phone, interview students and ask what they love most about their campus community. These can include staff shoutouts, student appreciation, or anything in between! Once you’ve collected enough responses, edit the clips together and post them on your school’s social media account(s)!

Activity
Kindness Countdown!
Create a countdown calendar to Valentine’s Day on a large piece of poster paper. Beneath each date, write a simple & actionable kindness challenge for students to complete!
At the end of the week, post highlights from each challenge online for all to see!

Activity
First to the Door!
During the middle of the school year, the simplest acts can have the biggest impact.
Challenge your leaders to be the first students to their classes and hold the door open for their peers. Have competitive leaders? Challenge to see who can hold the door open for the most consecutive classes in a row!

Activity
Day of Warmth!
Let’s face it–February can be freezing cold for much of the country.
As a response, select a date during the month to fill with warm activities! Hand out hot chocolate, pass out hand warmers during passing periods, and/or encourage students to wear warm/comfy clothes to school!

Activity
Throwback Surprise!
Remember receiving Valentine’s mini cards from fellow students in elementary school? Let’s bring it back!
Partner with a local elementary school and exchange filled Valentine’s grams. When the 14th arrives, invite a series of elementary students to your school to hand out Valentine’s grams as students arrive for class!
